Obituary of Sandy Marshall

Please share a memory of Sandy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sandy “Uncle June” Marshall Jr., 76, of Jackson, MS, was called home to be with the Lord on May 12, 2017, in Ridgeland, MS. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m., May 20, 2017, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS. Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Service on that Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home.

Mr. Marshall was born on May 02, 1941, to Mr. Sandy Sr. & Mrs. Lamar Marshall in Glen Allen, MS. One of twelve children, Sandy attended and graduated from McNair High School in Belzoni, MS. He went on to work for MS Valley Gas as a meter serviceman for thirty-eight and a half years until retiring. In his spare time, he loved watching football with friends and family. Most of all, Sandy was a humble man of integrity who never met a stranger and would give his last to anyone in need. To know Sandy / Uncle June was to love him. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, he spoke volumes. He said what he meant and he meant what he said and was the epitome of “let your nay be nay and your yea be yea.” You could respect his opinion because he would not lie. He knew and loved the Lord until his passing. Uncle June was the glue of the family, the one everyone clung to, and he will be greatly missed.

Sandy Marshall was preceded in death by his parents Sandy & Lamar Marshall, Sr.; four brothers: William "Bill" Marshall, Wiley Marshall, Henry "Jay" Marshall, and Alan "Jango" Marshall; and four sisters: Lula Mae "Mae" Moore, who was also his twin sister, Golden "Doll" Montgomery, Adlean "Fat" Morris, and Rosetta "Sookie" Powe.

He is survived by his two sisters Grace Ann (Meland) Summers of Jackson, MS, Mrs. Pauline (Thomas) Warren of Fayetteville, GA, and one brother Samuel (Barbara) Marshall of Jackson, MS, along with a host of loving nieces and nephews.
