Obituary of "T.O." Wayne Taylor

Thomas Wayne Taylor (T.O.), 62 years old, was called by God, to his final resting place on October 25, 2017.  T.O. was a loving husband, father, Pawpaw, brother, neighbor, and friend.  He was born and raised in Canton, MS and graduated from Canton Academy.  T.O. dedicated 38 years of his life to serving his community as a law enforcement officer.  He spent 4 years with the Canton Police Department, then 34 years with the Ridgeland Police Department where he retired from in 2012.  After retirement, T.O. served in court services for the Madison County Sheriff's Department.  T.O. loved fishing, woodworking, gardening, cooking for the church, watching MS State football, and refereeing for the MS Association of Independent Schools.  T.O. was an active member of First Ridgeland Baptist Church.

  He is preceded in death by his dad, James W. Taylor, uncle Kenneth Terrell, niece Leslea Seay, grandmother Mae Allie Terrell, and grandfather William F. Terrell.

 T.O. leaves behind a loving wife Carol Taylor, 2 daughters Candi (Michael) Leverett and Christi (Mike) Pientowski, stepdaughter Jackie (Jim) Fairly, stepson James (Whitney) Stepp, Mother Jean Taylor, sister Linda (Frank) Reid, brother Mike (Dee) Taylor, 6 grandchildren Zach, Jaycie, Cadence, Joseph, Kolby, Sunnie, and expected granddaughter Emmie Rose, along with nephews and nieces, and a host of wonderful friends.  The family would like to especially thank all the Doctors, Nurses, and staff of UMMC Cancer Care and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, his 2 sitters Sharon and Rosland, and the staff at Woodlands Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and Yazoo City Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.  Visitation will be held at Natchez Trace Funeral Home Fri. Oct. 27 from 5-7 pm and Sat. Oct. 28 from 9-11 am at First Ridgeland Baptist Church.  Services will be held at First Ridgeland Baptist Church Saturday Oct. 28 at 11 am.  Graveside services will follow at Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland.  Memorials can be made to First Ridgeland Baptist Church.   We love you and will miss you T.O., but will see you again someday.
