Mr. Matthew Smith Jr. 37, of Madison, MS was called home to be with the Lord on December 15, 2017 in Hinds county.   Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 4-6 p.m.  at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS. A Memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home.

Matthew was born on July 24, 1980 in Jackson, MS to Mr. Buddy & Carolyn Smith.  He grew up in Madison, MS where he attended school and graduated from Madison Central High School. He worked for Stone Source in Brandon, MS as a Stone Fabricator. Matthew was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His first love was a motorcycle, and the tradition runs deep within his family. It was where Matthew felt free. It was a bond between his family and his brothers that no man could break.   Matthew was a man of honor, and integrity who would help anyone ever in need.  His greatest joy in life was spending time, and help raising his nephew Andrew who he loved dearly.

 

He is preceded in passing by, his grandparents, Alton & Jimmie Ruth Pearson, one uncle Billy Pearson.

 

Matthew Smith Jr. is survived by his parents, Matthew “Buddy” Smith Sr.  & Carolyn Pearson Smith of Madison, MS., two brothers, Randall Smith of Florence, MS., A.J. Smith and his wife Melissa of Madison, MS., grandparents, Ron & Kathy Smith & Bobbie Joe Vessels. One special niece, Lexi Smith and two special nephews, Andrew Smith & Nic Wilmoth.

Bro. Wayne Williams will officiate the service.
