Joshua Barry Duncan

Clinton

Joshua Barry Duncan transcended through this galaxy on December 29, 2017.  He was born on lucky 7-11 in the year of 1983 to the late Kevin “Kip” Barry Duncan and Sheila Dennis.  He was extremely intelligent, had his own language of creative thinking, and exhibited a witty and humorous character.  Joshua had a strong interest in computers and received his Associates of Science degree in Digital Media from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida.  He loved the study of Shotokan karate where he achieved his purple belt and found tremendous value in the spiritual ways of the art. Most of all, his love for family and friends was beyond measure.

Josh was standing in his kitchen cooking dinner when the aliens shined their light upon him to take him up to the mothership for the final abduction.  This time they realized they could not bring him back because he was much too important to the universe.  Josh had been sending them signals through his guitar which he played so creatively and with his natural technology skills, including computing and web design.  His new missions include developing an unearthly ant farm project with the perfect queen ant and teaching aliens the ways of video gaming.  They offered him an irrefutable lifetime salary of cheese, boiled peanuts, and goat-cheese pepperoni pizza.

Josh loved his family and friends more than anything in the world and was fiercely loyal and protective over them.  His imagination and child-like zest made him notorious amongst all the children in the family.  His boundless originality and make believe-like spirit entertained all of those who dared to play along.  He was able to relate with others on any level – he respected other’s points of view and did his very best to share their burden, put them at ease, or make them laugh uncontrollably. He enjoyed engaging in the deepest of conversations and discussing the possibilities of life and beyond.  Josh was very comfortable in his own skin and would cover your skin with the shirt off his own back.  He was a true example of selflessness.  He had a pure heart and was never judgmental or took anyone for granted.  He kept in constant contact with his family, attended every family event, and found the humor in every situation.  He was the most rootinest-tootinest, two-arm huggin’, peace-makin’, empathizin’, open-minded, philosophizin’, smilin’, calm in the storm kind of guy.

Joshua is survived by his mother and step-dad Timothy C. Wilkinson of Atlanta; his brother Jeremy Duncan and wife Stephanie of Madison; his sister Jennifer Dunlap and husband Bryan of Atlanta; his sister Lauren Gaudet and husband Ross of Austin; and sister Amanda Oakey and husband Wyatt of Bossier City; two nephews Dennis Chappell and Gavin Gaudet; four nieces, Zoey Duncan, Emily Duncan, Pennie Gaudet, and Elise Dunlap; as well as many wonderful and loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents Walt and Jean Duncan and Frank and Georgia Dennis, as well as two aunts Tammy Duncan and Jane Dennis, and two uncles Donnie and Richard “Rip” Dennis.
