Obituary of Bobbie Lee Gober Forst

Bobbie Lee Gober Forst, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 20, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. She was 85 years old. One of six children, Bobbie Lee was born to Abbie McMurtray and Claude Ernest Gober on September 5, 1939, in Canton, MS. She lived and worked in Canton until 1970 when she moved to Ridgeland where she continued to raise her four children, work, attend church and participate in community activities. The majority of Bobbie’s career was spent working as a logistics engineer in the aerospace industry; first with Beech Aerospace, then Raytheon from which she retired in 2001. In 1998 Bobbie married Billy Forst. Together, they enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, singing in the church choir, and spending time with family. One of her favorite pastimes was playing the mountain dulcimer. She enjoyed playing with groups and attending dulcimer festivals in and around Mississippi. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers; Hugh Gober, Roy Gober, Frank Gober and Gene Gober, and her daughter, Eva Kate Runnels. She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Forst of Tampa, FL; sister, Ernestine Gober Foster of Harrison, AR; daughter, Pam Runnels Osborne (Russell) of Lutz, FL; sons, Ted Runnels of Mendenhall, MS and Jimmy Taylor of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Monica Taylor of Tampa, FL, Judi Bruton (Dan) of Smyrna, GA, Lisa McIlwain of Uniontown, PA, Jessica Runnels Shultz (Jarod) of Mendenhall, MS, Eva and Carr Taylor of Brandon, MS, and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves behind sisters-in-law, Judy, Janell and Peggy Gober, as well as treasured nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Natchez Trace Funeral Home with internment to follow at Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or your favorite charity.
