Obituary of Lisa Wright Wilson
Please share a memory of Lisa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lisa Wright Wilson, age 65, of Madison, MS, born February 27, 1960, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse Milton Wright, Jr. and Carolyn Roberts Wright; and her brother Gary Milton Wright.
Lisa was survived by her husband, Peter Lehmann Wilson of Madison, MS; her six children, Daniel Cooper Wilson (Meagan), Benjamin Wright Wilson (Elizabeth), Matthew Robert Wilson, Joseph David Wilson (Alyssa), Emily Jane Jemison (Andrew) and Anna Caroline Wilson, all of MS; her brother, Randy Terrell Wright (Sally) of Sanford, NC; and six grandchildren, Ayla, Libby, Mason, Samuel, David, and Isabella.
Lisa was a 1978 graduate of W. A. Berry High School and a leading actress in many school plays and other theatrical productions. It was during the spring play of her senior year, “You Can’t Take It With You,” that she met Pete. She married him on December 28, 1980 while both were students at the University of Alabama. After graduation, Lisa earned her Masters in Speech and Language Pathology at the University of Montevallo. After a few years working as a speech pathologist in the Jefferson County school system, Lisa decided to be a stay-at-home mother and homeschooling teacher after her first son was born. She was also a member and leader in La Leche League where she met many other moms who became lifelong friends.
Lisa was a loving, caring and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She told her family that she was grateful that she had been given 11 more years after her first battle with breast cancer. She was mostly thankful that she had been able to see all six of her children reach adulthood. Lisa loved reading, long walks in the park, playing games and her daily tea from McAlister’s Deli. She loved traveling to many places including family vacations to Orlando and Panama City. She especially enjoyed her numerous trips to the mountains with family and friends. She will be extremely missed, but never forgotten, by those who knew and loved her.
A visitation (9:30am) and memorial service (11am) will be held on Saturday, April 12th 2025, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison, MS. A graveside service will be held immediately following at the Natchez Trace Funeral Home.
