Obituary of Charli Wilson Woods
Please share a memory of Charli to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charli Wilson Woods passed away unexpectedly in her home in Madison, Mississippi, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the age of 41. She was born on November 1, 1983, in Jackson, Mississippi to Tony Wilson and Leeann Stevenson Wilson. Charli grew into a woman defined by boundless generosity, unmatched style, and a heart that beat with love for her community.
Charli was the proud owner of Prim & Proper, a beloved formal dress boutique in Madison, MS, where she didn't just sell dresses—she made magic happen. Her gift for helping people find the perfect outfit went far beyond fashion; it was about confidence, beauty, and making everyone feel seen and celebrated. “She had your back, no matter what,” was a phrase often spoken by those who knew her. She saw the best in people and made sure they saw it, too.
Her heart was bigger than anyone could measure. Charli was bold and tough, but she had a nurturing, deeply compassionate side that allowed her to feel what others felt. Whether someone was hurting, unsure, or needed encouragement, she had a way of setting herself aside to ask, How can I make this person feel better? And she did—again and again. Her kindness was genuine. Her humor, unmatched and usually mouthy—but only to the right people, and always with love.
A fashionable pillar of her community, Charli devoted herself to service and style in equal measure. Her generous spirit showed through her sponsorships and donations of dresses to numerous events, including: American Cancer Society’s Hope Ball, Best Dressed of Jackson (ACS), Real Men Wear Pink (ACS), the Bacchus Ball for Diabetes, Light the Night (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society), Canopy Children’s Solutions Butterfly Ball Fashion Show, the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters’ Broadcasting Awards, Junior League of Jackson’s Mistletoe Market, Best of Madison Business Red Carpet, Rankin County Red Carpet Businesses, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She never missed a chance to show up, give back, and dress up—three of her favorite things.
Charli also gave her time freely, volunteering at the Sanderson Farms Golf Tournament and packing lunches for those in need during the holidays.
She loved to play golf and go shopping for new additions to her ever growing wardrobe. She believed in lifting people up and making them feel special—no matter their age, background, or story. A self-made woman, Charli worked tirelessly for what she built, and she passed those values along, teaching by example how to work hard, treat others with respect, and show up with excellence and accountability.
Friends were her chosen family, and if you were lucky enough to be in her orbit, you knew loyalty like no other. One close friend who knew her for over 24 years shared, “No matter what life threw at her, she took it all with grace and let its path make her stronger, greater, and just better and better. She was content, happy, and loved—and loved by all who knew her.”
Charli is preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Leeann Wilson, and her cherished grandparents, William and Elaine Stevenson.
She is survived by her loving husband of twelve years, Scott Corely Woods, his children and extended families; their adored French bulldog, Stevie; and a wide circle of friends who were truly her family in every way.
A Celebration of Life honoring Charli will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Broadmoor Baptist Church, 1531 Highland Colony Parkway, Madison, MS 39110. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, with the service to follow at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital or the Make-A-Wish Foundation — two organizations that reflect Charli’s love for children and her passion for giving hope. Direct Links are on the left side bar.
