Anna Lorene Burks, age 93, passed away on June 27, 2025 in Brandon, Mississippi. She was born on February 5, 1932 to Roy Burt Ashmore and Effie Mae Richardson Ashmore in Ethelsville, AL. Our Mama, Her hobbies were taking care of every child in Ridgeland, Ms. Everyone called her Mama or Mama Burks. She loved bowling on a League in Jackson, Ms. She also Loved to play card games, mexican train dominoes, marbles, + bingo. She also loved when her family came together for any occasion and lets not forget she was a photo bomber. She loved her husband sooo much and is now having a wonderful time reuniting with him. Boy was she a great wife, mother, sister, nanny, great nanny,+ great great nanny. You can ask anyone in the family or extended family, they will all say how great she was. She worked at Mostly Martha's Florist a long time. She could drive that van on 2 or 4 wheels, just like Pam. She was the kind of person that never met a stranger. She will surely be missed by everyone! We will see you again Mama!!! Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Burks, her parents, Roy Ashmore and Effie Mae Richardson Ashmore; Daughter Phyllis Sills, Gail White; Sons Wayne Massey and Bart Massey; Sister, Linda Shepard; Brothers, George and Malcom Ashmore. Anna is survived by her Daughters, Pam Wright (Bubba) of Ridgeland, MS; Robbin Clark (Duane) of Mendenhall, MS, Kelly Polk (Collie) of Mendenhall, MS; Sister, Johnnie Mae Newman (Louis) of Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday July 1, 2025 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service celebrating her life will be at 12:00 pm in the Chapel and the interment will follow in Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS.
