Please share a memory of Maggie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Maggie Lou Hart, 98, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025. She was born on January 20, 1927, to Walter and Marietta Hart in Madison, Mississippi. Maggie lived a long, peaceful life marked by her gentle spirit and love for simple pleasures. She found joy in quiet hobbies like quilting, reading, and needlework. A devoted member of Madison Methodist Church, Maggie worshipped there throughout most of her adult life. She dedicated over three decades of service to Blue Cross Blue Shield before retiring in 1984 after 32 years. Found tucked in the pages of her Bible was this personal prayer: “Thank you, God, for being with us, for caring and providing for us, and guiding us through each day. Thank you for the gift of knowing you and having you as a part of our lives. Amen.” Maggie is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marietta Hart; her sisters, Elizabeth Jorgenson, Ellanor Ellington, Catherine H. Williams, and Martha F. Minninger; and her brother, Walter Ray Hart. A graveside service will be held in her honor at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The Hart family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff and caregivers at The Arbor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Madison Methodist Church or The Pearl River Church Cemetery Fund at 100 Post Oak Rd, Madison, MS 39110.
