Gene Raymond McKinney, 85, of Canton, passed away on June 30, 2025, at his home Canton, MS. Gene was born on October 8, 1939, to Vernon and Thelma Louise Clem McKinney in Illinois. Gene married Tamara Louise Schumer on February 10, 1940, and together they raised four children. Gene retired as a plant manager for Coca Cola and enjoyed playing golf. Gene was known for tinkering on things, but he most enjoyed spending time with his is family. Gene is survived by his loving spouse Tamara McKinney, daughters, Patti Westbrook (Morris), Teresa Hartley (Kirk), and Kelli Dorsey; son, Jeff McKinney (Mary); 8 grandchildren, Clara McKinney, Taylor Jefcoat (Brandy), Ryan Jefcoat, Kyle McKinley, Brittany Brown, Scotty Dorsey, Shawn Dorsey, and Sarah McPherson; 13 great grandchildren, Skylor Jefcoat, Josey Jefcoat, Haden McKinley, Annalynn McKinley, Beckett McKinley, Leighana Brown, Bella Brown, Dawson Brown, Hannah Dorsey, S J Dorsey, Briley Dorsey, Mave McPherson and Layne Jefcoat. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara McKinney. A memorial service will be held at Gene's church, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt on Saturday July 5, 202,5 at 2:00pm.
