Please share a memory of Mark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mark Eugene Holloway, age 64, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 29, 2025, after a short illness.
Born in Jackson, Mississippi, on October 5, 1960, Mark was the son of Martin and Joyce Holloway. He was a longtime member of McDowell Road Baptist Church and cherished attending services with his family in his younger years. Mark spent the majority of his career as an adjuster in the paint and body industry before retiring.
A true outdoorsman, Mark was happiest with a fishing pole in hand, always ready to cast a line with anyone willing to join him. Known for his quick wit and subtle humor, he could always bring a smile to those around him. Mark deeply valued time spent with friends and family and was always up for a gathering.
His faith was a guiding light throughout his life. Mark was devoted to reading the Bible and serving others through ministries close to his heart. He faithfully volunteered in his church’s food distribution ministry and spent time sharing the gospel with inmates at the Rankin County Jail.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Joyce Holloway; his wife of 40 years, Bertha Jean (Jeanie) Holloway; and several cherished dogs, including Roxie, who brought him great joy.
He is survived by his fiancé, Melanie McGee; two sisters, Wanda (Freddie) Dulaney and Jackie (Terry) King; nieces, Shandy Nix, Tyler McCoy (Ryan), Whitney Dulaney, and Kaylie Joiner (Colby); nephews, Wesley King (Rachel) and Brian King (Katelyn); great-niece, Lily Nix; and great-nephews, Colby Nix, Knox McCoy, Anderson King, and Cameron King.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s memory to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League.
