Shirley "Ann" Martin, age 84, joined her beloved husband Elwood in heaven on July 14, 2025. She passed away peacefully in her home with family by her bedside. She is now rejoicing with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Ann was born March 17, 1941 and raised by her parents, Jewel and Julian Burrell in Pickens, MS. She married the love of her life, Elwood Martin, and they were happily married for 56 years until he passed away in 2018. They had five children - Tim, Mark, David, Cynthia and Patrick. She loved her children and spending time with her family. They went on many family trips throughout the US. Ann also enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. They traveled all over Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean and RV'd all across the US. She worked with her husband at their family business, Martin's Furniture & Appliance and was a loving mother and homemaker. She found immense joy in painting and crafts. She would always work meticulously on her crafting projects. Her favorite color was aqua and was seen in her artwork and in her attire. She always loved good shopping trips, always returning home with treasures and great deals. Ann loved birds and her dogs. She has a beautiful collection of bird figurines. Ann Martin is survived by her children, Mark (Rosa) Martin, David (Cassandra) Martin, Cynthia (Keith) Armstrong and Patrick (Brittany) Martin; sisters, Pauline Peden and Julie Jordan; grandchildren, Mariel Adams, Mark Martin Jr., Timothy Martin, Melissa Martin, Rochelle Wesson, Shawn Martin, Tyler Armstrong, Jacob Armstrong, Luke Armstrong, Alissa Martin, Trip Martin and Everett Martin; great-grandchildren, Natalie Adams, Jase Adams, Jozy Martin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Elwood Martin; her son, Tim Martin; her parents, Jewel and Julian Burrell; and sister, Dorothy Knight. Her family would like to recognize the staff at Abigayle Adult Day Center. She always enjoyed going there and was their first client and attended for six years. The family would also like to thank Arden Hospice for the compassionate loving care they gave her for the last few weeks of her life. Visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Madison on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 10am-12pm. The funeral mass will commence at 12 with an interment service to follow at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
