Dennis Raymond Chism, 56, passed away on August 31, 2025, surrounded by family after a battle with cancer. He was born on September 15, 1968, in New Albany, MS to Raymond Chism and Janie Baird Chism. He was raised in Myrtle, MS where he attended West Union Attendance Center. He married the love of his life, Lisa Grubbs, with whom he shared a beautiful life and two children. He retired from Nissan North America after 22 years of service. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed watching college sports and babysitting his granddaughters. Dennis is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lisa Grubbs, his daughter Haley, his son Curt and daughter-in-law Katelyn; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Chism, Hardy Kate Chism, and Pierce Raymond Chism (expected February 2026); his parents Raymond and Jane Chism; his sister Shelly Swinford and brother-in-law Joel(Hobo). He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wallace Baird and Mary Rodgers Baird; paternal grandparents, Marvin Chism and Willie Pearl Floyd. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Etta, MS. Pallbearers will be Randy Baird, Robert Baird, Shea Baird, Thomas Baird, Ted Dragoo, Brad Farr, and David Gainwell.
