Obituary of Jane Odom Tubb

Please share a memory of Jane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jane Odom Tubb, age 88, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at her home in Madison, Mississippi. Born on April 28, 1937, in Meridian, Mississippi, Jane’s life was defined by her deep Christian faith, her active involvement in her community, and her boundless love for her family. She was the beloved wife of Joe Tubb for 65 years. They shared a unique and romantic beginning, having met at the Neshoba County Fair when Joe was performing with The Rolling Stones—the original band, decades before the famous group with Mick Jagger. Having lost her parents before her marriage, her bond with Joe and their children became especially deep and treasured. Jane was a devoted member of Wellspring Church in Madison, where she found great strength and fellowship. An avid tennis enthusiast, she channeled her passion into her career as a long-time employee at The Sportique tennis store in Jackson, where she connected with countless players and fans of the sport. Beyond her professional life, Jane was known for her generous spirit and dedication to helping others. She was actively involved in So Blessed, a cherished sewing group that created handmade port pillows, blankets and tote bags to bring comfort to the young patients at Children's Hospital around Jackson and was always available to help with a church project or a family in need. Jane embraced life with enthusiasm, especially during her favorite holidays. She was famous for going "over the top" with her elaborate and festive decorations for both Halloween and Christmas, delighting her family and neighbors every year. She had a unique eye for detail and loved collecting treasures to brighten her home, beautifully arranging them on her dining room table or a special shelf in the living room. She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Tubb, and their two children: Joseph Phillip Tubb and Virginia Tubb Craig (Brien). She was the cherished grandmother of five grandchildren: Lauren Craig Vedros (Zach), Sarah Craig Dygert (Drew), Rebekah Anne Craig, Peyton Tubb, and Seth Tubb. Though her grandchildren lived far away, Jane held them close in her heart, faithfully praying for them at church and deeply missing them in their absence. A visitation will be held at Natchez Trace Funeral Home on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home, beginning at 2:00 PM.  Per the family's wishes, there will be no graveside service.
