Janie was born in Savannah, GA on December 20th, 1951, to Hugo Padgett and Velva Clark. She grew up in Ridgeland, South Carolina as the third of five girls.
On May 19th, 1978, she married Stephen Bohannon in an intimate ceremony in Euless, TX. They were married for 47 years, holding their strong bond and devotion all the way up until Janie’s untimely death.

Above anything else, Janie was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family (including all her dogs) with everything she had, and cherished all their moments together, especially family vacations at the beach. Her favorite times came every Christmas when she’d decorate the entire house, buy gifts for everyone, make sure all her family was well-fed, and sit around the fire, watching and laughing at Home Alone.
Janie is survived by her husband, Stephen Bohannon; her daughter, Tessa Bohannon; her son, Zachary Bohannon and his wife, Randa Meade; her granddaughter, Haley Bohannon and her mother, Kathryn Marks; her sisters, Eve Padgett and her husband, Calvin Booth, Kelly Padgett, and Melanie O’Quinn and her husband, Timothy O’Quinn; her brothers-in-law, Christopher Bohannon and his wife, Heather Bohannon, and Michael Bohannon and his wife, Laura Bohannon; her nieces and nephews.
