Jeanne Stephens Eubanks passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, January 2, 2026, in Gluckstadt, Mississippi. She was born the third daughter of Terrell B. and Carrie Carpenter Stephens on December 29, 1927, in Macon, Mississippi. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 2:00pm in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison, Mississippi. Her childhood was spent in Columbus, Mississippi, attending Franklin Academy and Demonstration School. She graduated with honors from S.D. Lee High School. She completed her education at Mississippi University for Women with a double major in Chemistry and Bacteriology and memberships in Gamma Sigma Epsilon and Beta Beta Beta honor societies. She was awarded a National Science Foundation fellowship to intern in Medical Technology at Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Although a registered medical technologist, she followed her true love teaching science at the junior high school level in the public schools of Jackson, Mississippi and Denver, Colorado. After the birth of her daughter, she continued her teaching career at Jackson Academy, Manhattan Academy, and First Presbyterian Day School. When she ended her teaching career, she entered a second career in the retail field working as a Bridal Consultant at McRae’s and a sales associate at Gayfers’ and Dillard’s at Northpark Mall. In November 1949, she became the bride of Clyde Virgil Eubanks who preceded her in death in February 1994. They became the blessed parents of daughter Caroline Terrell Eubanks Chester. She is survived by her daughter and her husband, John, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters Virginia S. Wood (Gene), Lois S. Reichle (John) and Betty S. Cooper (Frank). Her life was enriched as a Sunday School teacher and worshipper at First Baptist Church of Madison and Broadmoor Baptist in Jackson. She claims membership in both. We would like to extend our gratitude to the wonderful ladies of Private Caregivers Group, Inc. These ladies, Myra Jones, Laura Sheriff, Earline Edwards, S'Nya Catchings, Vanessa Bardwell, Passhun Carter and Judy Miller whose kindness and compassion brought both comfort and dignity to her final days. We also want to thank the nurses, Bri Miller, Janell Byars, Kendra White, Danielle Keper, Ariel Wiggins, and Kaitlyn Moore of Traditional Health Care, whose care, presence, and heartfelt support meant more than words can express. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to the charity of your choice.
