Obituary of Johnnie P. Foster

Mrs. Johnnie Pope Foster, age 96, died January 11, 2026, at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born June 6, 1929, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Bradley and Mayme Pope. Her family moved to Aberdeen, MS where she taught fifth grade in the Aberdeen School System. Later in life she moved to Madison, MS to be near family. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her daughter, Judy Legg of Brandon, MS; granddaughter, Mandy Neese (Tim) and great grandchildren; Hadley, Harper, and Titus; granddaughter, Mallory Hicks (Daniel) and great grandchildren, Charlotte and Baker; son, Don Foster (Linda); granddaughter, Susan Collins (Matt) and great grandchildren, Olivia and Jack; grandson, Donald Foster, Jr. and great grandchildren, Lainey and Brody; grandson, Jonathan Foster (Samantha) and great grandchildren, Emma and Paige; granddaughter, Yvette Brown (Kenneth) and great grandchildren, Caleb and family; son, David Foster; granddaughter, Jamye Foster (Barry Herring); grandson, Brad Foster; and great granddaughter, Kayelee Foster.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Claude Foster, sister Betty Pope and brother, Bradley Pope.
Visitation will be Friday January 16, 2026, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church from 10:00am until 11:00am with a service at 11:00am. Interment will be Saturday at 2:00pm in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen, MS at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
