Daniel Corey Howard, 47, of Madison, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at his home.
Visitation will be held at Natchez Funeral Home in Madison on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. A private service and burial will follow.
Corey is survived by his daughters, Ashley Grace Patrick (Wes) and Victoria Morgan Purvis (Lee); his cherished grandchildren, Morgan Lee Purvis and Mallory Vera Purvis; his parents, Larry Edward and Collie Mae Howard; his sister, Rhonda Mary Kuriger; and his nieces, Cameron Claire Kuriger and Sydney Nicole Kuriger.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved dog, Jo Jo.
Corey accepted Christ into his life in 2012, a decision that guided him faithfully in the years that followed. A true jack of all trades, Corey worked as a battery and auto parts salesman, landscaper, truck driver, and groundskeeper. No matter the role, he gave his all and took pride in his work.
Above all, Corey was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the life of the party, always able to brighten any room with his laughter and presence. He loved the outdoors—hunting, fishing, boating—but most of all, he treasured spending time riding four-wheelers on the “Land” in Pickens with friends and family. Corey was known far and wide as the very best crawfish and peanut cook around.
Corey left a lasting mark on this world and on the hearts of those who loved him. Though he is gone from our sight, he will remain in our hearts forever.
We’ll see you down the dusty ol’ trail, Ricky Bobby.
