In the early hours of the morning on July 26, 2018 Michael “Mikey” Medlock, 32 of Madison, MS, peacefully left the Earth surrounded by family. A visitation honoring Mikey’s life will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 from 11-1 P.M. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home located in Madison, MS. With a Celebration of his life service beginning at 1:00 P.M. Mike was born November 14, 1985 in Urbana, IL to Michael Franklin Medlock and Rosemary Drake Medlock. Mike and his family moved to Mississippi in 1998 where Mike later graduated from Madison Central High School in 2004. Mike was awarded an athletic scholarship to play soccer at Holmes Community College. He later completed his education at Hinds Community College in landscape management. Mike went on to have a successful career in landscape management and design, including work for Madison Garden Center and most recently Turfscape.

In 2016, Mike had a mole removed that turned out to be malignant melanoma.  January 2018, he had a reoccurrence of melanoma that metastasized throughout his body. 

Mike was an avid nature enthusiast; enjoying hiking, camping and kayaking. There was no sport or athletic activity that Mike could not master. He enjoyed eating pizza and drinking craft beer with friends and family.

He is survived by his parents, Rosemary Drake Medlock of Madison, MS, Michael Medlock and his wife Kate of Flowood, MS., two loving sisters, Rebecca Stuck and her husband Kylan of Indiana., Jennifer Babl and her husband Ryan of Mississippi, four nephews, Hayden and Brody Stuck of Indiana., Jonah and Jude Babl of Mississippi. Most of all his most loving loyal, golden retriever Cooper “Coop” Medlock.
