Susie McKee Hawthorne, age 73, passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at her home in Ridgeland, MS. Susie was born October 4, 1947 to Martha and William McKee. Susie graduated from Central High School, and married Edgar Lee Hawthorne on July 5, 1965. She worked at the Hilton Hotel as an accountant. Susie was one of three sisters, Nina, Susie and Linda. Susie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha McKee, and her daughter, Gina Elise Hawthorne Sumrall. Susie is survived by her daughter, LeeAnn Sanders (Robert), and her four grandchildren: Kerry Miller (Bremen), Lee Sanders, Rachel Sanders and Bailey Sumrall, and her great grandson Bremen Miller. Susie loved butterflies, cats, napping and had a radiant smile and a contagious laugh that would brighten the room and make anybody’s day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Webster Animal Shelter at 525 Post Oak Road Madison, MS 39110. Visitation will be on Monday November 23, 2020 at Natchez Trace Funeral home in Madison, MS from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The service will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a graveside memorial at the Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS.
