Mechelle Ray Garner died at home in Madison on Saturday February 6, 2021. She was 60 years of age. A native of Jackson, MS, she was the daughter of Ervin Max Ray, Jr. and Fay Stokes Ray. She was a resident of the greater Jackson area most of her life. She graduated from Brandon Academy. Mechelle worked for the family business, Mid-South X-Ray for a number of years. She is preceded in death by her father. Mechelle is survived by her husband of 27 years, James Gary Garner, son, John Tait Garner, mother, Fay Stokes Ray; brother, Gary Tait Ray (Tammy); step daughter, Ashley Garner Powell (Josh), step son, James Brent Garner and three grandchildren, Cooper Garner, Abbie Garner and Shepherd Powell and a number of nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held by the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries 450 Towne Center Blvd Ridgeland, MS 39157.
