Charles “Chuck” Tasma, 72, of Madison, passed away on June 3, 2021 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Charles was born on October 4, 1948 to Willard and Judith Compton Tasma in Abbeville, Louisiana. He grew up in New Iberia, LA with a passion for sports and outdoors. Charles obtained a degree in Forestry, specializing in Wood Utilization, from Louisiana Tech. While attending La Tech, he met his future wife, Marcia. After college, Charles secured a job at Georgia Pacific in Taylorsville, MS. Once in Taylorsville, Charles and Marcia had two children, Alison and Ryan. Charles moved through the ranks at GP where he eventually became Plant Manager for 40 yrs. He was well loved in the company and devoted a majority of his life to his job. After retiring in 2013, Charles and Marcia moved to a beautiful lake community where Charles enjoyed fishing with friends. Charles was involved in lake maintenance and loved spending time on and around the water. He also continued his love for wood working, which was a big part of his life. Charles made some of the most beautiful furniture, which will be enjoyed by the family for many years. In the later years, he learned the art of bee keeping. He dove head first into learning everything about the curious insects. He enjoyed harvesting the honey and loved for others to enjoy the delicious treat. Charles loved spending time with his grandkids, and the grandkids LOVED their POP! The girls always knew they could count on Pop to answer their FaceTime calls and spend hours watching them play. Charles loved LSU football and baseball. Charles and his son Ryan would make annual trips to Baton Rouge to see the Fighting Tigers play baseball in Alex Box stadium. Charles was happily married to his first love, Marcia, for 51 years. Charles and Marcia set a great example for what marriage is supposed to be like. Charles is survived by wife Marcia, daughter, Alison Vance (Cayce); son, Ryan Tasma (Jenifer); six grandchildren, Gabriel, Madison, Mary Sara, Skylar, Macie and Asher. He was preceded in death by father, Willard Tasma, mother, Judith Tasma and brother, William Tasma.
