Karen Elizabeth Kennedy Lenow (66), of Madison, MS, went to be with The Lord when passing away on Friday, October 8, 2021. Karen was in her home with family by her side, after a year-long battle with cancer. Karen was preceded by her father, James Arther Kennedy and brother-in-law, Tommy Sadler. She is survived by her husband, George Raymond Lenow, after 28 years of marriage which began on May 29, 1993. Karen is also survived by her son, George Raymond Lenow, II – along with her two grandchildren Justin Adam Lenow and Madison Rhenae Lenow. Karen was born October 30, 1954 into the loving arms of her Mother (Bennie Jo Slater Kennedy) and Father (James Arther Kennedy). Karen is one of five children, and survived by her sisters, Carol (Robert) Leach, and Connie (Jeff) Richardson, Kim Sadler, and brother, Kerry (Marilyn) Kennedy. Karen also leaves behind nieces, nephews and their children, along with numerous cousins and in-laws across a very robust family. Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Nothing was more important to Karen than her family and closest friends. She always brightened the room with her presence, and she never met a stranger that didn’t like her. Her caring and giving spirit was contagious to others, and she always had great stories to tell. Karen is strong in her faith in Jesus Christ, and is a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church of Madison, MS. Karen grew up in the Jackson area, graduating from Central High School. She continued her education at Hinds Community College before starting her career as a secretary and paralegal. Karen worked at several different law firms in Jackson and continued her work at Security Savings. Later, she became a Commercial Realtor and worked for H. C. Bailey, Co. In 1998, Karen started Infoware, Inc., a successful computer technology company that serves Hospitals and Clinics across Mississippi and Louisiana, specializing in Electronic Medical Records, Dictation and Transcription solutions. Karen’s customers always complimented Karen for her work ethic and dedication to customer success, and they always appreciated the level of personal attention they received from her. Karen was happiest around open water, whether she was scuba diving in the ocean or fishing along the banks of a nearby lake or pond. She loved to travel, especially on scuba diving trips, where Karen logged over 1,000+ dives during her lifetime. She invested and trained her nephew (Chase Richardson), and her grandchildren (Justin and Madison) to become certified scuba divers and to accompany her on dive trips. Karen also loved the Rocky Mountains, spending 20+ years in her vacation home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
