Please share a memory of Wesley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wesley Davis Pippins, 19, passed away on February 24, 2024. He was born on February 26, 2004, to Cathy Pippins. Wesley graduated with honors from Germantown High School, in 2022. Wesley’s Mavericks golf team won the Class 5A State Championship in 2019. Wesley was a member of the Mississippi Junior Golf Association. Throughout the years he was selected to play as a member of the Mississippi River Cups teams, the Southern Junior Cup team, and the Sanderson Farms Junior Pro Am. In 2021, he was chosen by the Mississippi Junior Golf Association as the Player of the Year in the 16-18 age division. After graduation, Wesley continued his golf career at Meridian Community College, where he was awarded the honor of being chosen to the all-tournament team after winning his first college tournament. He was then selected second team all-conference. On Sunday afternoons, Wesley enjoyed playing with the Sunday Men’s Group at Deerfield Golf Club. Before finding his love for golf, Wesley played tournament baseball for many years. He strived for anything competitive whether tennis, pickleball, or ping pong. Wesley has been described by many as being a light to others, which was shown by the enjoyment he found in any activity as long as he was with his friends. Wesley had love for so many and he cherished the time he spent hanging out with his friends and family. Wesley chose to see the good in everyone and let each person know how much he cared for them. He could tell stories about each and never forgot anyone. Wesley is survived by his mother Cathy Pippins, sister Melissa Pippins (Riley Savell), grandmother M. Alene Pippins, Aunt Terri Pippins (Billy Jones), Cousins Johnathon Robert (his wife Shannon and son Ethan), Dillon Jones (his wife Krystal and daughter Livienne). Godparents, T.J. and Eva Holtsinger (Rhett and Tayler). His brothers in golf from Germantown High School and Meridian Community College and multiple friends. He is preceded in passing by his grandfather Jimmie E. Pippins and cousin Christopher Robert. Pallbearers will be Colby Summers, Grayson Davis, Landan Cox, Dawson Hester, Collin Russell, Carson Darby, Bruce McClung, Maddox Atkinson, Coach Lance Stickland and Coach David Rosenbaum. Visitation will be at Natchez Trace Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. A funeral service celebrating his life will follow, with an interment to follow at Natchez Trace Cemetery. A time of fellowship will then be held at Lake Caroline Golf Club House.
