Fritz Katzenmeyer, born on November 3, 1951, at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, to loving parents Jane and George Katzenmeyer, passed away on September 30, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, George, his sisters, Kathy and Patsy, and his mother, Jane. Fritz lived a life marked by compassion and dedication. After graduating from Biloxi Senior High, he pursued his education at the University of Mississippi, where he graduated with his master’s degree in education and embarked on a fulfilling career helping those in need. He then began working in the mental health field, continuing his education by becoming a Registered Nurse (RN). Throughout his career, Fritz touched the lives of many with his caring and selfless nature. While at Ole Miss, he served as the Head Student Athletic Trainer. He was well known as a youth soccer coach, touching many kids’ lives in the community. His commitment to healing and helping carried over to his nursing career, where he left an indelible mark on the people he served and served with. Fritz's greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna, and their two sons, Damien (Katherine) and Aaron (Roxanne) Katzenmeyer. Fritz's legacy continues through his four cherished grandchildren: Ethan, Carsyn, Hayden, and Keaton. Fritz demonstrated unwavering love, support, and a deep sense of family values as a husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and a commitment to making the world a better place through his work as a nurse and the warmth he shared with his family. Fritz's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His contributions to his profession and devotion to his loved ones serve as a testament to a well-lived life. The sidelines and stands of soccer games will never be the same! He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. The family has designated St. Dominic’s Health Services Foundation for memorial contributions.
