Margaret Beryl Cassell Ridgeland, MS Margaret Beryl Cassell, 97, passed away peacefully in her sleep on 1/17/2024. She was born on 1/25/1926 to Joseph and Mary Ella Wood of McComb, MS. Margaret went by many names and all of them true; daughter, sister, wife, mother, Mart, Mama, Grandmother, Grandma and Mawmaw. She was employed by the railroad for over 40 years but would proudly claim her true occupation as homemaker. In the purest sense of that word, she created a home for her family that was unsurpassed and continues to extend the influence of that love across this country. She was kind, loving and generous to all. She opened the doors of her home and her heart without hesitation and practiced her Christian faith and belief every day. She believed we should love one another and always be kind, and she showed us how to live that life with her own special touch of grace and dignity. She was a matriarch and leaves behind a legacy of inquisitive minds and tolerant natures, that understand sacrifice and honor, and carry forward her belief that life is as good and as right as you make it. She will be as much missed here on Earth as she is being welcomed in Heaven. Margaret is survived by her children Michael D. Cassell (spouse Dawn) of Madison, MS; V. Jeanne Halliwell (spouse Allan) of Ridgeland, MS; Sara E. Cassell (widow of Robert) Memphis, TN; Donna K. Cassell of Ridgeland, MS; Kenneth A. Cassell (spouse Valerie) of San Francisco, CA; Joseph E. Falconer-Cassell (spouse Blas) of West Toluca Lake, CA and by her grandchildren Christopher B. Cassell (spouse Tammila) of Hubert, NC; Robert M. Cassell (spouse Holly) of Nashville, TN; Justin C. Halliwell of Ridgeland, MS; Matthew W. Halliwell of Ridgeland, MS; Mary E. Crenshaw (spouse Clay) of Aledo, TX; Nathan C. Cassell (spouse Kelly) of Houston, TX; Lucas R. Falconer of West Toluca Lake, CA and by her great-grandchildren Cameryn Cassell, Tyler Cassell, Morgan Cassell, Michael Cassell, Dylan Cassell, Maya Cassell, Graham Crenshaw, Henry Crenshaw, Jaden Cassell and Olivia Cassell. She also leaves behind her adored sister Ella Mae Elmore of McComb, MS and her sister-in-law Harriet Wood of Summit, MS, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She is preceded in her passing by her precious husband Marvin E. Cassell and her loving son Robert G. Cassell. A special thanks is extended to Accent Care Hospice and her hospice nurse Tamara for their excellent care and attention to her comfort and dignity in her final days. Visitation will be at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, Ridgeland MS from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm on 1/23/2024 with a funeral service celebrating her life to follow at 2:00pm.
