Obituary of Carol Hawkins Still

Carol H. Still, age 72, passed away at her home in Madison surrounded by her family on Thursday June 13, 2019.  She was born on May 7, 1947 in Hattiesburg, MS.  On November 7, 1965 she married Robert L. Still Sr. Together they had 3 sons.   Carol and Robert loved to travel to Gatlinburg, TN., Pigeon Forge, and Kentucky.  They also loved spending time with family and friends.  Carol’s special interest and hobbies included raising a family and caring for God’s creation planting trees and gardening.  Some of her favorite times were playing with her grandchildren.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert L. Still Sr.; mother, Jane Turnage; brothers, William D. Hawkins Jr., John L. Hawkins (Toni); sons, Robert L. Still Jr. (Lori), John W. Still (Frances), Michael J. Still (Meagan); 9 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her grandson Stephen Still and her stepfather James Turnage.  Carol and Robert were members of Highland Colony Baptist Church. Visitation will be 4:30 to 5:30 on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home.  759 Hwy 51, Madison.  Followed by funeral services at 5:30 and burial immediately following at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hederman Cancer Center, 1225 North State St. Jackson, MS. 39202.
