Obituary of Ester B Smith

Esther B. Smith Jackson - “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” Psalm 23:1 Esther B. Wallace Smith, age 86, passed away on October 30, 2022. She was born on April 20, 1936, to Jackson Wallace and Alice Henderson Wallace. Ester graduated from Glenville High School in Cleveland, OH, and entered the workforce as a factory worker. During her career, she became a spokesperson for her fellow workers as their union Shope Boss. Esther was the third child of the Wallace children and the younger sister of Bernice Wallace Musgrove. Bernice is the last child of the Wallace lineage. Ester moved to Jackson, MS to be with her younger sister Bernice when her health declined. Esther is survived by Sister, Bernice Musgrove of Jackson, MS; Two grandchildren, Michael Wallace, Jermaine Simpson of New York. She was preceded in death by Daughter, Michelle Wallace, Sister, Mildred Ruth Griffith, Sister, Jacqueline Wallace Jones, Brother, Luther Carl Wallace. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, Madison, MS. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, 11:00 am at the Natchez Trace Funeral Home, Madison, MS, with Rev. Clement J. Bolton, officiating. Burial will take place immediately following service at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
