On February 14, 2024, Charles" Ed" Hammock fell asleep in Jesus to rest until the glorious resurrection. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. He was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on February 29, 1940, and is the son of the late Charlie Stone Hammock and the late Hazel Ava Wilson Hammock. He is preceded in sleep by his wife of 56 years Katie Hamner Jones, formally of Thaxton, Virginia. He is survived by his daughter Jeanette Lenora Wax and her husband Dr. Tim Wax of Concord, North Carolina and his son Charles Edward Hammock, Jr. and his wife Crystal Dawn Simoneaux of Brandon, Mississippi. He is also Survived by his granddaughters Jennifer Leigh Wax and her husband Jared Harris of Colorado, and Hannah Nicole Becker of Carlsbad, CA as well as his grandsons Davis Edward Wax (Katie Oliver), John Stennis Wax and Michael Clifton Wax of Concord, North Carolina and Justin Paul Meche of Brandon, Mississippi. A memorial service is scheduled for a later date.
