Last week I learned of Billy's passing.
I first met Billy when he was a practice teacher in my choral music class at Central High School in Jackson. We sat next to each other and kidded around a lot. Our paths crossed again at Deposit Guaranty Bank where he had great influence on my business, approving loans that another banker would not. He was a good friend and I was alway grateful for him in my life. Early in the year he came by my office to visit and get some reading glasses that I sell, at no charge of course, just a way I showed my gratitude for him!
