Cheryl Rowland Coke, beloved resident of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away on April 18, 2024, at the age of 75. Cheryl was born on August 19, 1948, in Greenwood Mississippi to Lawrence Earl Rowland and Marguerite Whitehead Rowland. Cheryl will be remembered as a sweet and kind-hearted woman who touched the lives of many.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 53 years, James “Boo” Coke; her children, Allison (Jason) Schultz of Memphis, TN, and Brad (Emily) Coke of Myrtle Beach, SC.; and her two grandsons Brady and Parker Weatherly.
Growing up in Greenwood, MS, Cheryl graduated from Greenwood High School in 1966. Cheryl went on to attend Mississippi State College for Women and then Mississippi State University, where she graduated second in her class with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Cheryl worked for several years as an accountant in Tuscaloosa, AL, and Birmingham, AL, before moving to Jackson, MS, in 1980. After her children were older, Cheryl also enjoyed working for several years at Blake Publishing Company. She was a devoted mother and a cherished friend to all who knew her.
A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held Saturday, May 4, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, Mississippi, with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM and the service at 3:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and honor the memory of this remarkable woman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The Memorial reception will be held immediately following the service at the Madison Airport Hangar (7450 Old Canton Rd). Madison, MS.
