Follower of Christ, loving husband and father passed from this life into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday May 13th surrounded by his family. Born on June 19, 1940, in Dora, Alabama, Charlie grew up in Myrtle, MS where he graduated from Myrtle high school before attending Northeast Mississippi, Community College, and the University of Mississippi majoring in journalism and communications. He began career in television and radio before settling on career in the automobile industry in the early 70’s, serving in the finance office of several major dealerships in Jackson and North Mississippi. Known for his distinctive laugh, which was sure to be heard wherever he was to be found, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and especially hiking the great smoky mountains with his family. An avid student of the Scriptures could easily be found on his back porch with his coffee and his Bible. He has proceeded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. GT Brewer and his brother, Joe Nick Brewer. He survived by his wife of 57 years Betty; his sons, Charles Dexter Brewer, II of New Orleans, Benjamin and Joy Brewer of Madison and sister, Lanta Craig of Myrtle, MS. Celebration of life and resurrection will be held at First Presbyterian Church Madison on Thursday May 16th at 1:00pm with a visitation 2 hours prior. Interment will follow in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Madison, MS.
