Peggy Webber Starling, 86, of Madison, passed away on June 11, 2024. She was born on June 26, 1937, in Atlanta, Texas and was the daughter of Ford Sterling Webber and Ima Monelle Maxcy. Peggy grew up in Beaumont, Texas, where she was a graduate of French High School, and attended Lamar University in Beaumont. Peggy moved to Mississippi in 1974 and has lived in the Jackson area since then. She was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Brandon and previously Christ United Methodist in Jackson. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, and crafts. Peggy worked as a secretary in both a Law Firm and an Engineering Firm. She loved to travel with her husband and spend time with her family. Peggy is survived by her brother, Gary Michael Webber of Queen City, TX, daughter, Karen Towry Holmes (Jack) of Madison; Son Chris Daniel Towry (Nancy) of Smithville, TX, and Jimmy Starling (Sally) of North Augusta, SC, grandchildren, Noah Jaxon Holmes, Jennifer Smith Morrison, Colton Daniel Towry and Sarah Bess Towry; and her beloved dog, “Teddy”. She was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband, Henry Watson Starling, Jr. Peggy will be laid to rest next to her husband at Natchez Trace Memorial Cemetery in Madison, MS. In honor of her wishes there will not be a visitation or service. Burial will be graveside with only her immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to M.A.R.L. or Webster Animal Shelter.
