We did not live close to my Uncle David growing up, but I always enjoyed the times we got to visit him. My Uncle David was the Cool Uncle with all of the cool cars and fun antiques that he let us play with. One of the memories that I still tell people to this day was how he fixed up a DeLorean for Carla to drive and how she took me for a ride in it one day. What kid from the 80’s wouldn’t love to ride in the “Back to the Future” car?

It seems to be a double edged sword that we live with in this life. To be the man that I knew and loved like Mr. Leland, so loving, welcoming, and fun creates a void in this life for a family and friends that loved him and admired him in so many ways. What a blessing to know that you will be missed so much and at the same time what hurt for those who miss the love and friendship he shared. We love you to the Harris and Tichy family. We pray that we can be the love and friendship Mr. Leland gave in his life to walk with you in this time.

I’ve only known Mr. Leland for 10 years! I met him at Cruisin the Coast through his daughter that is my dearest friend and her husband is my husbands best friend! I can’t tell you enough how much this family means to me. They are all amazing kind hearted people. This picture was at the 2022 scarecrow car show in Madison! All of our cars won! Mr. Leland also let us drive away in his 1936 ford truck from our wedding, he was so generous to let us use the truck! He also drove me around in my wedding dress that night and that was a funny story I will never forget! Mr. Leland we love you and will always remember you! You will be missed so much!
