Janie Kay Slone Janie Slone, 65, of Madison passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2024, following a long journey with dementia. Janie was born September 7, 1958, in West Monroe, Louisiana. She married her husband, Del, in 1991. They moved from West Monroe, Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi and then to Madison, Mississippi. She retired from Telapex, Inc. where she enjoyed a 28-year career. She was an active and faithful member of Alta Woods Baptist Church. Janie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Lettie Austin and brothers Don Austin and Carl Austin. She is survived by her loving husband Del Slone, her step-son Daniel Slone and his wife Shawn, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Zuvers and husband Lonnie, brother Joe Austin and wife Donna and nephew Rock Hawkins and wife Flo. Memorials in Janie’s memory may be made to Alta Woods Baptist Church, 168 Colonial Drive, Jackson, MS 39204 or to Webster Animal Shelter, 525 Post Oak Road, Madison, MS 39110. Visitation is Saturday, July 27, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, Madison, Mississippi, beginning at noon with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
