Q: Describe where Taylor worked and what they did
A: Taylor started his career with American Cruise Lines as a server but moved to the housekeeping department early on in his 28-week contract. He was promoted to Housekeeping Manager after his 28 weeks. He was a mentor and friend to everyone who he came across on the ships, and an exceptional leader. He cared a lot about the housekeepers on his team and nicknamed us the powerpuff girls. His favorite itinerary was the Chesapeake Bay, with Historic South and Golden Isles being a close second. Guests loved Taylor and many would request specifically him to make their drinks during cocktail hour. Although his job title was Housekeeping Manager, Taylor also bartended with the other officers onboard and participated in the onboard entertainment, Liar’s Club, where he never failed to erupt the room into laughter with his charm.

Taylor was my older cousin. He always knew how to make me laugh. He was always kind to me and never treated me different even as we grew older. We didn’t see each other much over the last several years as I moved out of state. I wish we had more time together. Love you always.

Q: How did you meet Taylor?
A: I met Taylor years ago through Alex Smith & my son Cody Smith. I had the privilege of hanging out with him many times but one evening really stands out. We were waiting on Alex to arrive at his old place over off of Meadowbrook. Our plans were going to see a band & the boys were sweet to let the old person tag along. We had such a great time talking & playing with his little herd of fur babies. He truly loved his fur babies… Taylor will be dearly missed. Prayers for his family & friends.

Taylor was a true Mississippi man in my eyes. Taylor had an eye for art and really saw the inner beauty in all things and people. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, you name it. Taylor also loved music.. BIG time. I can’t tell you how many great musicians and albums Taylor put me on to. Rest in peace brother. Love you.

Taylor and my son and his wife were longstanding friends and loved Taylor. I knew Taylor since his high school days and we were fond acquaintances as well, we will all miss him dearly.
