Melisa Renee Ferrell Floyd - Born on January 31, 1980 and went to her heavenly home, after a short battle of metastatic lung cancer, on September 19, 2024. Melisa was born in Jackson, MS and lived most of her life in Madison, MS. When not living in Madison, she spent a few years in Dallas, TX, which she claimed to be "the happening place to be." Melisa eventually moved back to Madison to be closer to family once again. She attended Madison County schools and finished at the Education Center in Jackson, a year ahead of time. From there she attended Holmes Community College, Jones Junior College then Jackson State University. The majority of Melisa's working career was in the Home Health field as a Medicare/Medicaid biller. She later became a consultant for a software company, Axxess, that developed a new billing system for the Home Health Care agencies across the United States. Melisa had a very creative mind. She loved making flower arrangements and did so for many special events in Texas and Mississippi. Another skill was cutting and styling hair, even using clippers to make designs in close cut styles. If there was anything that needed repairing, Melisa never would shy away from tackling a job. Youtube videos were her "go to" for guidance. She repaired appliances, helped with renovating houses, did mechanic work on cars such as replacing water pumps, thermostats, alternators, repaired tires with a plug, brake pads, etc. Melisa was a "Jill of all trades, master of none". Melisa had a very compassionate heart, always wanting to help those in need, the young, the elderly, no matter the race. She loved all people. Those left behind that will miss her greatly are her mother Vicki Jefcoat, brother Neil Ferrell (Katie), sister Michele Ferrell (Reid). Nieces Frances Ferrell, Baylee Gaughf, Jordan Gast (Jeremy), Kelli Gast and Breckon Gaughf. Nephews Cash Ferrell, Dalton Halbert, Brentley Gast, Wyatt and Mason Gaughf. Uncles Mike Wann, Phillip Wann (Susan), and Jeff Ferrell (Linda). Cousins Staci Watkins, Thianna Garza (Bobby) and Natalie Banda (Orlando). And last but not least her fur baby Bruno (aka Jug Head). Predeceased by her father Milton (Mickey) Jordan Ferrell, III, paternal grandparents Milton and Helen Ferrell, maternal grandparents John L. and Dorothy Wann, her nephew and best friend Cody Gaughf, and her fur babies Blue and Cali.
