Lavonne Chamblee, age 81, of Florence, passed away on May 17, 2018 in Jackson, MS. She was born on December 30, 1936 to the late J.D. Hydrick and the late Rushelle Hudson Hydrick. She was a native of Dentville, MS located in Copiah County where she graduated from high school. Lavonne worked as a secretary for Crescent Laundry and retired after 30 years of employment. On March 30, 1979 she married John W. Chamblee and together they resided in Florence. She enjoyed camping, but fishing was a favorite past time.

Lavonne is survived by her loving spouse John Chamblee, daughter, Sherry Boyd (Bennett) of Madison, MS; son, Wayne Nance (Cherryl); grandchildren, Brendan Tyler Nance, Griffin Logan Nance, Lexie Paige Boyd and George Bragg Boyd.

In addition to her parents, Lavonne is preceded by her sisters, Elizabeth Thompson and Patricia Inabnet and brothers, J. D. Hydrick, Jr., Bucky Hydrick, George Hydrick, Harold Hydrick and T. W. Hydrick.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 18, 2018, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home with a service to celebrate her life to follow in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Center for Violence Prevention in Pearl, MS.
