Obituary of Frances Ivey Barnhill

Frances Ivey Barnhill, 85, of Jackson, passed away on May 22, 2018. She was born on November 27, 1932 in Kosciusko, MS. She graduated high school in Kosciusko and moved to Jackson where she graduated from Gilfoy School of Nursing. During her nursing career Frances worked 17 years as a Nurse for Jackson's first Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Jim Hendrix. She then worked for Baptist Medical Center where she helped design the new emergency room and was the Head Nurse in the ER. She was a Nurse Exam Proctor and retired as a Nurse Recruiter for Baptist.

Frances is survived by her step son, Richard Barnhill and his wife Micki; grandchild, Shelby Barnhill; great grandchildren, Olivia, Simon, Shepard, Stella and Trenton; and a nephew Tommy Ivey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Barnhill.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, 10:00 am at the Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson.
