Obituary of John William Howland

John William Howland, dedicated husband of Kimberly, and father of Austin and Eli, died September 8, 2018 at age 56. The Howlands live in Madison, where John served two terms as a City Alderman. John devoted his life to his children and was their most staunch supporter and fervent fan. One of his greatest joys was encouraging his children and others to play baseball. John was a fierce competitor in whatever he did. He loved working out at his gym, and physical fitness was a passion he pursued with his family and friends. John served 6 years in the Army National Guard after high school, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and was currently employed as a Transportation Manager at UMMC for Groome Transportation.

John is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Kimberly, and his sons Austin and Eli, his parents. Percy and Judy Howland of Ridgeland, Mississippi, and his brothers, David and Chris.

A celebration of John’s life will be held in the chapel of Broadmoor Baptist Church Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 3:00pm with visitation from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. The committal service will be private.
