Kenneth B. Lindsey, 69, of Brandon, MS, was called Home to The Lord on September 27, 2018, surrounded by his family at Baptist Medical Center.
Ken was born October 7, 1948 in El Dorado, KS, to Kenneth P. Lindsey and Vera Lindsey. As a young child, Ken’s parents moved to Durango, CO. Ken graduated in 1966 from Durango High School and attended Fort Lewis College. He joined the US Air Force July 3, 1968 and served in Vietnam 1969-1970. He also served on the Aerospace Ground Equipment Team (AGE) at Holloman Air Force Base, NM, Luke AFB, AZ, Helleniken AFB, Athens, Greece, Plattsburgh AFB, NY, from there he served as a Recruiter at Tinker AFB, OK, Little Rock AFB, AR, & USAF Recruiting in Jackson, MS. From there he served on the USAF Recruiting Inspector General Team at Randolph AFB, TX and finally the NCOIC at Jackson MEPS, MS. Ken and his family moved to Brandon, MS, in 1991, and he then retired as SMSgt after 26 years of service July 31, 1994. After retirement, Ken developed his enjoyment of construction, remodeling and woodworking. He was a man who could wield a hammer like no other. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and the wild wild west, especially the Rockies, where he fell in love with these adventures as a young man. Ken was the hand waver on Baker Lane to those who passed by his home. He and his family are members of the Hope Fellowship church family in Brandon.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents; Kenneth P. Lindsey and Vera Lindsey.
Ken married Rose Ellen Rodgers, Yazoo City, MS, on January 15, 1972. Their daughter, Shannon Elizabeth Lindsey, was born in Athens, Greece, January 18, 1975. He is also survived by a special nephew, Christopher O. Williams of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.; sisters, Debi Lindsey of North Zulch, TX and Mona Alkhafi of Lubbock, TX; aunts, Mary Kelly of Byram, MS and June Thomas of Brandon, MS.
Visitation will be Saturday October 6, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm with a memorial service to begin at 1:00pm at Hope Fellowship Church, 500 College Street Brandon, MS 39042.
