Obituary of Nikolaos Nikolis
Mr. Nikolaos Nikolis 32, of Madison, MS was called home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2018.
A visitation in Honor of Nik will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 Monday, Nov. 19, 2018 from 5-7 P.M. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, 759 Hwy 51, Madison, MS 39110, an additional visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018 from 10-11 am at Holy Trinity St. John the Theologian Greek Orthodox ChurchBottom of Form, 5725 S Pear Orchard Rd, Jackson, MS 39211. With a Celebration of Life Service following at 11a.m. with Burial being held after at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison. MS.
Nik was born July 10, 1986 in Memphis, TN to Mr. Vasilios Nikolis & Mrs. Anastasia Soula Nikolis. Nik grew up in Madison, MS. A devout Christian. He was very involved in the Greek Orthodox Church serving as an altar boy, as well as many hours at the Greek Festivals showing off his dancing skills. Nik attended Madison Central High School where he played Junior Varsity Football and was a member of the school band.
After graduating from Madison Central he went on to receive a degree in the Culinary Arts Program from the Art Institute of Denver, Colorado. While living in Colorado he enjoyed hikes, camping, and pursuing his first passion, Music. He returned home to work in the family business “Vasilios Greek Restaurant.”
After a year in the restaurant business, his love for music led him to enroll in “Musicians Institute of Los Angeles, California. Where he studied to be a Luthier. Nik was called back to Mississippi for the birth of his son, Vasilios Nikolis “Lio”. He was a devoted and loving father to Lio. His little boy was the light of his life. Nik and Lio were able to have many adventures together. Nik’s last years were devoted to his son. Nikolaos Nikolis will be remembered as a loving father, beloved son and brother, musician, poet, artist, and trusted friend.
He is preceded in passing by his grandparents, Zoey Savvidou & Savvas Savvidou, Elleni Nikolis and Matthew Nikolis.
Nik is survived by his beloved son, Vasilios “Leo” Nikolis of Madison, MS., his loving parents, Mr. Vasilios & Mrs. Soula Nikolis of Madison, MS., one sister, Elleni Nikolis of New Jersey, NY, three brothers, Matthew Nikolis of Brandon, MS., Steve Efstratiou of Madison, MS., and Pete Efstratiou and his wife Laura of Canton, MS. Along with a host of loving family friends.
Father Andrew Koufopoulos will officiate the service.
