Obituary of Brittany Watkins

Brittany Leigh Watkins, a young, vibrant and beautiful daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend, gained her Angelic Wings on January 12, 2019 at the age of 29.

Brittany was born on January 5, 1990 in Stockbridge, Georgia. Her family moved to Madison, Mississippi when Brittany was 10 months old. Brittany attended Madison Ridgeland Academy where she was a cheerleader and graduated from MRA in 2008. Brittany moved to Oxford to attend Ole Miss and graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 2014. She loved children and wanted to be an educator. She also had a love for animals and doing crafts.

Brittany is survived by her mother, Kim Watkins of Madison; father, Bobby Watkins of Griffin, GA; brother, Robbie Watkins; boyfriend, Omar Alvarez of Miami, FL; her uncle, Ken Stapler, uncle Gary Watkins and aunt Angela; her aunt, Cathy Watkins; maternal grandparents, Tom and Agnus Stapler of Madison, MS; paternal grandfather, Jack Watkins of Georgia and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Jewel Watkins.

On Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00am the family will celebrate Brittany's life in the chapel of Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Brittany's name may be made to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League (MARL) or the Community Animal Rescue and Adoptions (CARA).
