Obituary of Mary Lee Evans

Mary Lee Evans, loving mother, grandmother, great grand mother, and

great-great grandmother born on October 20, 1931 passed on from the ongoing

health problems she had been struggling with and onto a healed and loving

heavenly home on Friday, September 6, 2019. She will be missed by her

surviving family, as surely as she was met by those who went before. 

Mary was very much involved with her family, church and long time friends.

She loved fishing, bowling, playing cards and dominoes, and visiting with her

loved ones for every occasion she could gather them together. She loved

music and dancing for all her life.

She is survived by Terry and Lynn Evans (son and wife), Ricky and Linda

(son and wife) Janice and Alan Moon (daughter and husband), Lynn Thornburg

(daughter), Grandchildren: Jonathan and Jaime Evans (Sadie and Wyatt

Evans), Allison and Russ Roberts (Jayden and Emmett Roberts), Lindsay and

Brooks Bowen (Hayden, Jacob and Layla Bowen), Lee and Katie Evans (Kathleen Evans),

Keith and Jodi Moon Brantley (Carlton and Linnie Moon) and Dr. Terry Brantley

(Emily and John Sharp [Grayson }Chris Halbach, Rush Halbach), Shannon and

Tim Sermons ( Chelsea and Justin McDonald {Natalie, Peyton and Cameron

McDonald and Tyler Wolfe}), James Thornburg II, Adam and Karen Thornburg

(Austin, Ginny, Annalise, And Aiden Thornburg). Kim and Nickey Ray (Hunter

and Ally Ray, and Taylor Ray), Kevin and Crystal Hawthorne (Megan, Morgan

and Avery Hawthorne). Sister Carolyn Hawkins, and her loving and attentive

family. As well as a long list of other wonderful extended family members.

She was preceded in passing by her father, Clarence Burkette, her mother,

Mary Ellen Simmons, her husband and father of her boys, James Luther Evans,

her granddaughters Jessica Evans, Jennifer Evans, great-granddaughter

Brooklyn Bowen and Jackie Gwinn, the great joy of her life. Gail and

Calvin Hawthorne (daughter and son-in-law), brothers Clyde Burkette, Pete

Burkette, Bud Burkette, and sisters, Doris Odom and Rae Warren.

The family appreciates the love and support of all of their family and friends

during this difficult time.
