Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ruth Virginia Husman (née Sies)

Ruth, aged 94, died peacefully at her home in Brandon, MS, on October 11, 2019, with family by her side. Ruth was born on December 7, 1924, and she grew up in Sharonville. She was adopted by her paternal grandparents, Walter and Ella Sies, on September 25, 1925, and raised as their daughter. Her biological parents were George Sies and Elizabeth Boone.  Ruth had three biological siblings - Georgia, Alice and George.

Ruth married the love of her life, Charles R. Husman Jr (1924-1982), on October 10, 1942. They lived in Hartwell after Charles returned from WWII, where he served as a tail-gunner on a B24. They raised four boys - Chuck (Mary), George (Joy), Bob (Mary Jo), and Gary (Chantal). They mourned their daughter, Andrea, who was born still in 1947.

Ruth and Charles moved to Arlington Heights in 1955. Charles ran Husman Express trucking company along with his father, Charles Sr., and his brothers, Donald (Don) and Richard (Dick). Ruth often helped in the office.  They enjoyed participating in an annual Christmas social that provided truckloads of toys from Ohio Art Company to needy children.

Ruth has 6 grandchildren (Andrea, Kristen, Nathaniel, Branden, Dacia and Trista). She also has 13 great-grandchildren (Will, Kyle, Christian, Zakari, Connor, Madilyn, Aidan, Brennan, Emma, Addison, Kevin, Gabriel, and Patrick).

There will be a graveside service at Reading Cemetery on Columbia Avenue on November 9th at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christian Michael Thomas Memorial Scholarship at Northern Kentucky University at https://supportnku.nku.edu/christian.
