Obituary of Vurlon Stepp

Vurlon Stepp, age 90, of Canton, passed away on November 6, 2019 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.

Vurlon was born on September 7, 1929 to the late Ira Stepp and the late Carrie Hopper Stepp in New Albany, MS. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked in manufacturing until he retired. After retirement, he worked for Mississippi Blood Services for ten years.

Vurlon is survived by his spouse of 65 years, Margaret Jean Stepp, sons, Vurlon Stepp, Jr (Kathy) and Richard Stepp (Cindy); grandchildren, Michael Stepp, Mickey Stepp, Jennifer Sanders, Alicia Bass; and great grandchildren, Gracie Lynn Bass and Austin Stepp.

He was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Ray Stepp; grandchild, Marrie Stepp, great grandchild, Marshall Luke Sanders, one sister and two brothers.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Lone Pine Baptist Church from 10:00am until 12:00 noon. A funeral service will follow at noon and burial will be in Lone Pine Baptist Church Cemetery.
