John Edward Childress, age 70, passed away on November 6, 2019.  Born on July 20, 1949 to Joseph Childress and Mary Ann Lilley Childress, John grew up in the small town of Flora, MS.

John married Patricia Childress on September 9, 1978. He retired from the MS Department of Agriculture in 2013. He was an avid golfer/hunter. John loved his family and enjoyed his grandkids most of all. 

John is preceded in death by his sister Rosa Vance and brother Jeffrey S. Childress. John is survived by his parents, Joe & Mary Ann Childress of Flora, MS, his wife of 41 years, Patricia Childress, two sons, Jeff (Maurijo) Childress of Madison, MS, Chris (Emily) Childress of Brandon, MS; Daughter, Pamela Childress of Brandon, MS; Sister, Jo Ann Childress of Madison, MS; Six Grandchildren, Ajalee Childress, Zeke Childress, Paxton Childress, Maddyn Childress, Kylee Childress, Waylon Childress. 

Visitation will be held on Monday November 11, 2019 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home from 9:00am until 11:00am, followed by a celebration of his life service at 11:00am. An inurnment will follow in the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison, Mississippi.
