Mavis Ann Reel Davis Whatley was called to the Lord on December 20, 2019. Ann was born on August 11, 1939 in Clara, MS and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Christine Trigg Reel of Clara, MS. She married William R. Davis on August 22, 1956. They lived in Canton, MS until his death in 1989. While in Canton, Ann worked for Hederman Brothers for 28 years. She was a member of Center Terrace Baptist Church in Canton, MS. Ann married Randy L. Whatley on May 15, 1991 and has lived in Madison, MS for the last 28 years. She is proceeded in death by her loving husband Randy and grandson Patrick Davis. Ann is survived by her four children. Son Mike Davis of Mendenhall, MS. Son Steve Davis and wife Dodie Davis of Canton, MS. Daughter Dianne Davis Blalock and husband Richard Blalock of Liberty, TX. Son Mark Davis of Madison, MS. She is survived by grandchildren; Michael Hulsey and Jordan Parker, Amanda Blalock Taylor and husband Pat Taylor, David Blalock, Chris Buffington, Jesse Davis; Brianna Davis Jones and husband Ben Jones. She is survived by her great-grandchildren Charlee, James and Lila Hulsey. Kellan, Carter and William Taylor. Greyson and Jackson Buffington and Brooks Jones. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family. She was an excellent cook and loved to help others clean and organize. She had a great love and tender heart for animals, especially her canine companions. She never hesitated to help another that was in need. She will leave behind a legacy of strength, love and kindness. The family would like to send a heart-felt thank you to Heart of Hospice and their amazing team. A special thank you to Nida Ware and Rebecca Luckett for the wonderful care you provided to Ann during her final months. Your compassion and care helped to comfort and ease Ann and the family.
