Obituary of Sonny Wolgamott

Hollis Leon “Sonny” Wolgamott, 72, a resident of Madison, MS, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at his home. A memorial service will be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church on Saturday at 3:00 pm with a visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 at the church. Sonny was born in Ellisville, MS on November 1, 1947. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam on the USS Constellation. He worked for Bell South and later AT&T as an engineer for 37 years. After his retirement from AT&T, he worked part-time for Armstrong-McCall in Ridgeland, MS. He was a well-respected and beloved member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he was an integral part of the Brotherhood Prayer Breakfast Ministry and had previously served as a deacon. Sonny will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Hollis D. Wolgamott, Odester Pahnka Pape, and stepfather, Jim Dearman. Sonny is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cynthia Wolgamott; daughter, Dana Tiffin and her husband Michael; brothers, James Dearman, Phil Dearman, and Jonny Wolgamott; sister, Alyse Thomas; grandchildren, Hunter Radcliff, Chase Radcliff, Savannah Tiffin, and Sarah Tiffin and a multitude of extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
