Obituary of Betty Herrington Simpson

Betty Herrington Simpson, 76, of Crystal Springs, passed away on September 15, 2017 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was born on January 30, 1941 to the late Walter Herrington and the late Mattie Daniels Herrington in Pachuta, MS. She retired after 15 years as a Merchandiser with Sysco Foods and has lived in Crystal Springs since retiring. She was a faithful member of Countyline Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU and taught Sunday School.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband Tommy, who passed in 2003; sister, Ethel "Cootsie" Weldon and brothers, Ray Herrington, Walter "Pete" Andrew Herrington, III and Eugene Herrington.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Melissa Langford (Dale); sons, Michael Simpson (Cindy), Mitchell Simpson (Anissa); grandchildren, Brittany Cooper (Will), Amber Lucas (Dustin), Joseph Simpson, Katelyn Simpson, Mattie Langford, Teresa Langford, Kendall Simpson, Jacob Simpson, Anna Simpson and Ashton Simpson; and great grandchildren, Skye Lucas, Christian Cooper, Ruth Marie Cooper, Peyton Lucas, Kate Cooper and Jaxon Lucas; brother, Stanley Herrington and sister, Sandy Walton.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 17, 2017, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & Monday, September 18, 2017, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Natchez Trace Funeral Home with the chapel funeral service at 11:00 am at the Natchez Trace Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmy Errington will officiate. Burial will follow in the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
